At Air Products, we're passionate about finding ways to help our customers safely use our cryogenic and industrial gases. This site is dedicated to assisting customers with supplier-owned bulk storage systems to better understand the Section 312 reporting requirements of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)

EPCRA (also known as SARA Title III) establishes requirements for reporting hazardous and toxic chemicals manufactured or stored at commercial and industrial facilities. Reporting provides information to states and local communities on the presence of hazardous substances in their vicinity and helps them better prepare for potential chemical emergencies, and protect public health and the environment.

Liquefied and compressed gases are subject to this Tier II reporting requirement because they present both a cryogenic and an asphyxiant hazard as stated on their Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Therefore, these products are considered hazardous substances.
