Air Products Gives Back to Surrey Communities

Children and older people are just some of the Surrey residents who have benefited from the recent charitable efforts of major local employer, Air Products.
The company’s #60for60 campaign is encouraging employees to donate at least 60 minutes of their time to worthwhile activities in the area they work to mark its 60th anniversary in the UK.
Over 50 employees from Air Products’ Surrey team have donated almost 150 hours of their time out and about in the local community, where efforts have included:
- Improving open spaces: 17 employees from Air Products’ Human Resources and Procurement teams helped out with a major gardening project at Fenner House managed by Walton Charity, which provides sheltered and supported accommodation for older people. Thanks to their efforts, residents of Fenner House can now enjoy a pleasant and usable outdoor space. Meanwhile, another Air Products’ volunteer team was busy gardening and tidying up a valuable space at Walton Leigh School, a Special School for 11-19 year old students with severe/profound and complex learning difficulties. Graduates of Air Products’ Commercial Development Programme (CDP) spent time at The White Lodge Centre, a centre of excellence supporting disabled people of all ages, helping to improve the look of the building and gardens.
- Keeping Surrey tidy: 11 individuals from Air Products’ Surrey team donned their gloves and got their hands dirty with hours of litter picking across the local community.
- Inspiring the next generation of engineers: 8 to 10 year olds at a local Cubs branch were able to see the magic of science with liquid nitrogen demonstrations and other practical experiments helping to ignite their imginations.
