Air Products Tees Valley Renewable Energy Facility

Planning

Air Products proposed facility has been granted planning permission from Stockton Borough Council and is awaiting an environmental permit from the Environment Agency.

As part of the planning process, Air Products and its project team carried out a series of technical and environmental studies.  Air Products also consulted local and national organisations about the project, as well as sharing its plans with local residents and businesses.  In October 2010, public exhibitions were held in Stockton and Port Clarence with a leaflet about the project distributed to more than 7,500 households in the area.

Supported by the regional development agency One North East via the Tees Valley Industrial Programme, the project has also been welcomed by a number of other local organisations including NEPIC, the North East Chamber of Commerce, RenewPlus and Tees Valley Unlimited.

Subject to financing of the project and securing environmental permits, construction could start in early 2012 with the facility open for commercial use in 2014.
