Keumiée profile

The Keumiée plant was founded in 1977 and is today the principal production site for Air Products’ specialty gases and fine chemicals. It is also one of the largest sites of its type in the world.

The site covers all aspects of the packaged gases production process, from cylinder preparation and filling, to quality control and analysis. Its ISO9001 accreditation guarantees that ultra high purity gases and gas mixtures are produced using rigorous techniques and process control. The site is also accredited to ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 13485 (medical devices).

The site employs 125 people and attracts commercial visitors from around the world. The site is regularly audited by the Belgian authorities to ensure statutory compliance and participates in the ‘Responsible Care’ programme. Safety is Air Products’ number one concern and Keumiée is well under the chemical industry average for accident gravity, with annual plans for continuing reductions.
