Air Products’ Ellesmere Port Facility Receives Prestigious Safety Award

LONDON, UK (April 2010) — Air Products’ (NYSE:APD) has been honoured with the European Industrial Gases Association’s (EIGA) most prestigious safety award. Recognising the company’s outstanding safety performance, the Gold award commended their Ellesmere Port facility for achieving 30 years and 1 million worked hours without a lost time incident.

Highlighting the successful European harmonisation of Air Products operating standards and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) best practice, EIGA also presented their Perafita (Portugal) facility with a Gold award. Two further Silver awards, representing 10 years without any lost time incidents, have been presented to their facilities in Kedzierzyn (Poland) and Masalfasar (Spain). Along with Bronze awards presented to the company’s sites in Toulouse and Nantes (France) and Neuenstadt and Hattingen (Germany).
