Large Load Movement Taking Place on Weekend of the 28th/29th November 2009
17th November 2009 — On 28th/29th November a sizeable item of equipment is set to leave Air Products’ Manufacturing Facility in Acrefair, North Wales, bound for the Ellesmere Port Dock Complex.
The item of equipment, a distillation column, will be moved as two loads in convoy. The first load will measure 18.5 metres in length, 4.2 metres wide, 4.8 metres high and weighing 60 tonne. The second load will measure 2.28 metres in length, 5.3 metres wide, 5.2 metres high and weighing 62 tonne. The loads are being shipped to the Dominican Republic.
“When organising large load movements, we work closely with the Highways Agency, local authorities and police forces across three counties. This enables us to mitigate any impact on the local community and ensure the safe and smooth transit of our load,” commented John Taylor, Shipping Officer.
The column is due to leave Acrefair at 8.00am on 28th November travelling by route B. It is scheduled to arrive on the A41 outside Whitchurch around 1pm the same day, where it will remain overnight. The load will leave Whitchurch at 8am on 29th November bound for Ellesmere Port Docks, where it is expected to arrive around 1pm.
