Large Load Movements Taking Place on weekend of 8th and 9th August
30th July 2009 — On 8th/9th August a sizeable item of equipment is set to leave Air Products’ Manufacturing Facility in Acrefair, North Wales, bound for the Ellesmere Port Dock Complex.
The item of equipment to be moved on the 8th August will be a distillation column measuring 42 metres in length, 5.3 metres wide, 5.2 metres high and weighing 100 tonnes. The load is being shipped to Papua New Guinea.
“When organising large load movements, we work closely with the Highways Agency, local authorities and police forces across three counties. This enables us to mitigate any impact on the local community and ensure the safe and smooth transit of our load,” commented John Taylor, Shipping Officer.
The column is due to leave Acrefair at 8.00am on 8th August travelling by route B. It is scheduled to arrive on the A41 outside Whitchurch around 2pm the same day, where it will remain overnight. The load will leave Whitchurch at 8am on 9th August bound for Ellesmere Port Docks, where it is expected to arrive around 2pm.
