Large Load Movements Taking Place on the weekends of 18th and 19th April and 25th and 26th April

9th April 2009 —On the weekend of the 18th April and the weekend of the 25th April sizeable items of equipment are set to leave Air Products’ Manufacturing Facility in Acrefair, North Wales, bound for the Ellesmere Port Dock Complex.

The item of equipment to be moved on the 18th and 19th April will be a cold box measuring 58 metres in length, 5.5 metres wide, 5.5 metres high and weighing 180 tonnes.

The item of equipment to be moved on the 25th and 26th April will be a heat exchanger box measuring 21 metres in length, 6.1 metres wide, 5 metres high and weighing 100 tonnes.

Both items of equipment are bound for Korea.

“When organising large load movements, we work closely with the Highways Agency, local authorities and police forces across three counties.  This enables us to mitigate any impact on the local community and ensure the safe and smooth transit of our load,” commented John Taylor, Shipping Officer.

“We also continue to invest in local road infrastructures along the routes we use to move our loads, working closely with Wrexham, Shropshire and Cheshire county councils as well as other statutory authorities.”

Both the cold box and heat exchanger box are due to leave Acrefair at 8am on the 18th and 25th April respectively travelling by route B.  They are scheduled to arrive on the A41 outside Whitchurch around 1pm the same day, where they will remain overnight. The loads will leave Whitchurch at 8am on 19th and 26th April respectively bound for Ellesmere Port Docks, where they are expected to arrive around 1pm.
