Air Products builds new hydrogen plant in Novaky, Slovakia
15th November 2007 – Air Products today announced it is building a new high purity hydrogen plant, in Novaky, Slovakia. The plant will bring on additional hydrogen capacity to customers in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary and is due to be on stream in March 2008.
Commenting, Air Products’ vice president, bulk gases - Europe, Graham Rhodes, said, “The new plant in Novaky will strengthen our already well-established position in the region, adding extra capacity to the market, already served by our plant in Litvinov, Czech Republic.
“This announcement follows our recent news of a decision to invest in additional oxygen and nitrogen capacity at our Kedzierzyn plant in Southern Poland, demonstrating our commitment to the Central and Eastern European markets. The new plant in Novaky will enable us to serve customers in the region in key industries such as glass, metals and food.”
Hydrogen at the plant will be produced from Novácke Chemické Závody (NCHZ) plant’s hydrogen stream which is a by-product of their chorine / alkali production.
