AIR PRODUCTS BRINGS SAFETY AND PRODUCTIVITY TO SCHWEISSEN UND SCHNEIDEN 2005
Air Products will be putting safety and productivity
first this year at Schweißen & Schneiden 2005
(Essen, Germany 12-17th September) when it launches the
latest products in its Integra® cylinder range: the
oxy-acetylene Integra® cylinders.
The new cylinders, which have been developed to make oxygen and acetylene cutting, welding and brazing safer than ever, have already achieved accreditation from internationally recognised TÜV Rheinland Group. They join the Integra® cylinder for shielding gases in the Air Products range.
The oxy-acetylene Integra® cylinders are smaller and lighter than traditional cylinders - making them safer, more stable and easier to handle. Alongside all of the popular features of the exisiting shielding gases Integra® cylinder, such as the built-in regulator, quick-connect gas outlet and active contents gauge, the new cylinders also include a range of features which have been specifically designed for oxy-acetylene users.
The integrated regulator, which is a key feature of the Integra® cylinder, has been designed for the oxy-acetylene cylinders. The regulator minimises the risks associated with oxygen-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing and allows fine control of the outlet gas flow.
The new customer quick-fit connection incorporates an additional safety cut-off valve to prevent accidental leaks. Cylinder handling has also been further improved by the addition of a new patented guard design, which includes a rotating, rolling-knob for ease of use.
The quick connector is another key addition which has been developed with safety as a priority. Its unique combination of features incorporates a flashback arrestor, dust filter, safety locking and release mechanism, a non-return valve and a thermal cut-off valve.
Ivo Bols, Air Products’ vice president, packaged gases and northern continent explains: “Alongside our key priorities of safety and productivity, the development of the oxy-acetylene Integra® cylinders has been driven by our continued focus on innovation and putting the customer at the heart of our business.
“Our approach to the global welding and cutting market is to deliver what customers want: safer and more efficient gases and gas cylinders which deliver improved productivity. "
“The new oxy-acetylene Integra® cylinders are a perfect example of how important safety is to Air Products, and we believe that we have created the safest product on the market for oxy-acetylene users.”
Air Products will be exhibiting the new oxy-acetylene Integra® cylinders – along with the rest of the Integra® cylinder range - on stand no. 6-322 at the Schweißen & Schneiden 2005 exhibition.
Since its introduction at the last Schweißen & Schneiden exhibition in 2001, sales of the shielding gases Integra® cylinder have rocketed. The cylinder is equipped with a built-in regulator, quick-connect gas outlet, gas economiser and an active contents gauge. Up to 23% lighter and 33% smaller, the cylinder is safer, more stable and more manoeuvrable than traditional cylinders yet contains similar quantities of gas and often outlasts conventional cylinders when used with the gas economiser.
Air Products will also be exhibiting its range of shielding gases – the Maxx® gases. The premium range offers faster welding speeds, fewer rejects and reduced fume and ozone emissions. The range includes Ferromaxx® for carbon steel, Inomaxx® for stainless steel and Alumaxx® for aluminium. Since the launch year on year sales growth of the Integra® cylinder and the Maxx® gases have averaged over 50% and the products are now sold in 15 countries.
Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to see the gases and cylinders in action in a series of welding demonstrations throughout the show.
