Air Products donates funds for new computer equipment

14th November 2003 — Grandparents at Hersham Day Centre can now send emails and pictures to their beloved around the world, thanks to a £2,000 donation by Air Products.

Hersham Day Centre, a social venue for elderly members of the local community, runs free IT courses for the most intrepid and innovative of its visitors. Volunteers teach "grown up students" the basic computer skills that allow them to surf the internet, send emails and word processing. "It is so good", said Mr Pollinger, one of the students. "Now I can email my grandchildren around the world and they always send me photos of themselves - they say I am a cool granddad!"
