Air Products supports local hospice in Wrexham with £2000 donation

13th February 2003 - January 2003 saw Air Products make a donation of £2000 to the Wrexham based Nightingale House Hospice. The donation is part of Air Products' on-going support for the Hospice, which provides support and care for cancer patients and their families in North-East Wales. The donation was made following an application to the Air Products Charities Committee.

Air Products has previously made a donation to Nightingale House through its support of the Gateway Project, part of the Welsh Historic Gardens Trust. The Gateway Project is a charity organising trips to historic parks and gardens around Wales, for disadvantaged people.

Nia Williams, spokeswoman for Nightingale House, explained that the Hospice needs to raise £1.4m every year through voluntary contributions. "As you can imagine, this is an enormous task and one which is only ever achievable with the support of organisations such as Air Products."

"It is a pleasure to be able to make this contribution to such a worthy cause. The House does very valuable work for the local community and we are pleased to be able to assist it," added Laurence O'Donnell, Acrefair General Manager, Air Products.

Air Products has a number of facilities in the area near to Wrexham. As well as the manufacturing facility at Acrefair, the company also has an Air Separation Unit at Ellesmere Port where plant operations, distribution and the European Maintenance team are based and, a site at Crewe, which is home to the UK Customer Accounts Team and the Commercial Technology Centre.
