High Pressure Nitrogen System

High-pressure nitrogen and steam can be used to mould or "cure" rubber in pre-assembled "green" tyres. Our high pressure nitrogen systems allow you to independently control the temperature and pressure in your process for optimum results. Our systems inject nitrogen at about 400–600 psig (27–41 bar) along with steam into the bladder or inner tube of an uncured rubber tyre in the tyre press. The pressure forces the green tyre to conform to the shape of the mould and forces air out from between the many layers of the tyre. Compared to high-pressure hot water systems and endo gas generators, our high-pressure nitrogen systems can help you minimise oxygen content, resulting in improved bladder life on the tyre press; reduce corrosion and maintenance; plus improve safety and reliability. Air Products can evaluate and design a high-pressure nitrogen gas delivery system to meet your needs. In addition, we can help you design and install the valve and piping system to handle the high pressure gas in the tyre press area.
