Your questions answered

Who is Air Products?

Air Products is one of the world’s largest respiratory therapy providers for patients in their homes.

We serve more than 350,000 patients worldwide, including thousands of nebuliser patients. In the UK and Ireland, over 60,000 patients rely on our homecare services. We are the leading home oxygen service provider in the UK.

Our service has been developed to be as convenient and as reliable as possible for patients and carers.

What are Air Products’ responsibilities?

To provide and maintain the best nebuliser equipment to suit your needs and to support the advice your doctor or respiratory team gives you to help you manage your condition.

We supply all nebuliser equipment including compressors, nebuliser chambers, tubing, mouthpieces and masks. Once we receive an order from your specialist or respiratory team, we will arrange for our homecare service engineer to deliver your nebuliser to your home.

On the first visit, the homecare service engineer will explain your equipment to you and make sure you are comfortable using it before they leave.

Your doctor or respiratory specialist will still be responsible for assessing your medical condition and providing medical advice.

Note
Air Products will not supply your nebuliser medication. This must be obtained from your pharmacy.

Will my nebuliser be serviced?

Yes. Your homecare service engineer will do this every twelve months. In between visits, you need to perform some simple maintenance yourself, such as replacing the filter, to ensure hygiene and the efficient operation of the machine. Refer to the cleaning section for more details.

How do I contact Air Products?

Call our helpline on 0800 121 4524. You can use this number for all enquiries during normal working hours, 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday and 24 hours a day if you need urgent help.

If you need emergency medical assistance or help, you should contact your GP or call 999 for an ambulance.

How will I identify my homecare service engineer ?

All Air Products homecare service engineers carry an identity card. You must ask to see this before you let them into your home. Do not let anyone into your home if you are unsure about their identity.

What security checks do you carry out on your staff?

All our homecare service engineers are vetted before they join the company. In the case of staff in regular and direct contact with patients, such as our homecare service engineers, this includes a full police check to ensure they are suitable for the job.

How qualified are your staff?

All our homecare service engineers undergo a thorough training programme before they are allowed to make patients visits. Most have many years’ experience of servicing homecare equipment and helping patients with their needs.

Who do I contact if my respiratory condition changes?

If you are feeling unwell, or feel that your current nebuliser therapy is no longer helping your condition, please contact your doctor or respiratory specialist for advice.

You should not alter your medication without consulting your doctor or respiratory specialist. If you need urgent medical assistance you should contact your GP or call 999 for an ambulance.

What do I do if I move house?

If you are moving house it is important that you inform us so that you can continue to get your equipment serviced and consumables replaced at your new address.
