Epoxy-based construction products are used widely around the world due to their many performance and application advantages versus other types of systems. These advantages include:

System performance is heavily dependent upon the formulator's choice of epoxy curing agent. Further optimization can be achieved with the proper choice of resin, modifiers, pigments, fillers and additives. System performance is also greatly influenced by application conditions, application technique and surface preparation.

Primary performance requirements of each application need to be considered when choosing the best raw materials. Civil engineering applications use predominantly modified cycloaliphatic, modified aliphatic and waterborne curing agents. Advancements in waterborne curing agent technology have opened up new application areas. Our line of Epilink® waterborne hardeners are the first epoxy curing agents to be successfully used in all flooring applications.

Typically, standard bisphenol-A or bisphenol-F based epoxy resins are used and are blended with reactive diluents to reduce binder viscosity. In addition to curing agents, Air Products offers a full range of reactive diluents for civil engineering formulations.
