Cylinder security
Cylinders should always be secured to prevent theft. This is possible by operating on a site that is secure or where this is not possible cylinders should be stored in a locked compound .
The number of cylinders held on the site should be checked on a daily basis and the reason for any discrepancies investigated. In the event of a cylinder being lost/stolen report this immediately to Air Products and the local Police.
When toxic cylinders are involved, the site or compound must be kept locked and secure when not being supervised. All toxic cylinder should be stored in a locked cage constructed with a roof to prevent cylinders being lifted out.
