SafetySafe handling for industrial applications
Air Products supplies not only hydrogen but also the requisite know-how. In view of the chemical and physical properties of hydrogen, the industrial use of hydrogen requires special safety measures and handling precautions. After all:
- Hydrogen burns with an invisible flame.
- Vapours can spread and ignite.
- Hydrogen displaces the breathing oxygen in the air and so presents a risk of asphyxiation at high concentrations.
- On contact with the skin or eyes, liquid hydrogen may cause frostbite or cryogenic burns.
Hydrogen is supplied both in gaseous form under high pressure and in liquid form.
At Air Products, we take care to ensure that you handle hydrogen safely. Our technicians will train you in the handling of hydrogen.
Please contact our Customer Engineering department on telephone number 02324-6890 or send us an email.
KnowH2ow Service
We launched our KnowH2ow service in response to rising demand for training in the handling of hydrogen as an energy source. This safety training is aimed at consulting engineers, operating and maintenance personnel, safety engineers, laboratory staff and executive personnel from commerce and industry.
The safety training courses are held as individual seminars for companies, but also as an accompaniment to fairs and similar events. The courses are held in English.
Please contact Emma Guthrie. She will provide details of course contents and the corresponding costs.
