Biofuels are compounds which are made from renewable raw materials, such as wheat or rapeseed, and added to conventional fuels. As renewable fuels, biofuels produce environmental benefits over mineral derived transportation fuels. They help to reduce overall emissions of greenhouse gases and other tail-pipe air pollutants and are a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Careful consideration needs to be paid towards the blanketing of storage vessels containing Biofuels which is where Air Products can help. We have a long standing expertise in the inerting and blanketing requirements for the Petrochemical Industry and can offer a range of other complimentary solutions for Biofuels projects. These include biomass combustion using oxygen, oxygen fermentation, conformance to DSEAR regulations and oxygen gasification within Syn Gas production.
