Community Investment
We are committed to promoting the economic vitality of our communities by supporting programs and organisations which assist community development. Our goal is to strengthen the civic, social, and economic fabric and to improve the quality of the environment in our communities where a significant number of company employees live and work.
A helping hand at times of need
Employees at our site in Carrington, Manchester, pledged to help children at local school, Partington Primary School, to recover from severe damage caused by devastating storms.
As well as a much needed donation which went towards replenishing some of the books they lost and a new climbing frame, Air Products also arranged for a professional storyteller to perform at the school, where he captured the imagination of children with his enticing tales about courage and bravery.
Sue Tanner, assistant head teacher and head of literacy at Partington Primary School is very grateful to have Air Products close by: “Without the help of Air Products we could never have afforded to replace these things so quickly. The children really enjoyed the stories, it was a real treat!”
The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain – National Anti Bullying Week
Children at Partington Primary received a special visit with an important message as part of National Anti Bullying Week in 2006. Police Community Clubs of Great Britain (PCCGB) visited the local schoolto present a special Anti-Bullying presentation to the children, thanks to funding from Air Products.
The children were provided with an educational curriculum coded guide which facilitates lessons about the dangers and consequences of bullying and vandalism on both the individual and the community, through interesting characters and activities.
The PCCGB; an organisation whose members are made up of senior serving and retired police officers, have devised this innovative, nationwide campaign aimed at beating bullies and anti-social behaviour across the UK.
Barry Lawler, National Campaign Manager for the PCCGB said, “Without the assistance of companies such as Air Products we would never be able to reach the children who need us the most. Last year 450,000 children reported bullying incidents, truancy increased and 22 children in this age group committed suicide. Children are sometimes scared to speak up for one another, afraid that the bullying will shift to them. The PCCGB aims to help to change this with their messages.”
