Our approach
At Air Products, we believe for our social investment to be successful, it is important to understand the needs of the communities we operate in. This is done through discussion and consultation with individuals, employees, community groups and other key stakeholders. Our aim is to respond to these needs through a targeted social responsibility programme, which helps to develop fruitful relationships and sustainable communities in a meaningful way.
Our focus is to assist local charities and non-profit making organisations that have a direct impact on the communities in which we operate and where our employees live and work.
Areas we support
Our support is concentrated on five specific areas that we feel are aligned with our business and its core beliefs:
Regrettably we are not able to support organisations that fall outside of these key areas. In addition we cannot support:
- Personal appeals on behalf of individuals
- Advertising
- Organisations whose prime function is entertainment for profit
- Sectarian or denominational organisations or their sponsored activities or programs, as our employees, stakeholders and customers represent all religious and ethnic groups
- Except where the organisation is seeking funds in the direct interest of the entire community or is offered and readily available on a non-restricted, non-sectarian basis (Aid to Education is exempt from this provision)
- Political parties, public office holders, political committees, or political candidates
Ways in which we offer support
Our support can be seen in a number of different ways:
- Monetary donations
- Employee matching scheme
- In-kind goods and services
- Raffle prizes
- Obsolete PC donations
Our charity rate for helium
Air Products has a special rate in which we offer charities and not-for-profit organisations that fall within the criteria above, a discount on helium for their events.
