About Richard

Working in R&D as a Lead Applications Engineer in ETG Basingstoke and the EWC welding laboratory in Wroclaw Poland. I manage the development of metal fabrication applications projects ranging from new gas mixtures in cladding and brazing, generation of welding cutting data through looking at offerings in new technologies such as Additive Layer Manufacturing.

His experience

Prior to joining Air Products I worked for a refractory company developing a range of new ceramic based materials used to make sliding gate devices, nozzles, tundishes etc.
When I started my career at Air Products in 1986 I worked for the European Technology team, then based on the Brunel University Industrial park (now based at Basingstoke)., carrying out R&D into the fluorination of plastic containers, car parts, fuel tanks, sheets and films.
After a few years I became involved in carrying out research projects in metal fabrication, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and animal physiology developing gas expert systems, new gas mixtures, critical data, handbooks as well as writing numerous technical articles.
I am still involved in R&D but manage the development of a variety of metal fabrication applications related projects in order to support our Linx/Maxx gas sales. I also look after the IP portfolio for…..

On a personal note…

Living in Aylesbury with my wife and youngest daughter, enjoying travelling and sports, particularly both codes of rugby, but sadly these days more as a spectator.
